International Women's Day 2021 #ChooseToChallenge

The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2021 is #ChooseToChallenge. A challenged world is an alert world. International Women's Day

International Women's Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women's achievements or rally for women's equality. Marked annually on March 8th, International Women's Day (IWD) is one of the most important days of the year to:

IWD’s 2021 campaign theme: #ChooseToChallenge

A challenged world is an alert world. The campaign theme for IWD 2021 is "Chose To Challenge". Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge.

Do we still need an International Women's Day?

Yes! There's no place for complacency. According to the World Economic Forum, sadly none of us will see gender parity in our lifetimes, and nor likely will many of our children. Gender parity will not be attained for almost a century. There's urgent work to do - and we can all play a part. IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.

- GLOW4equality is my way to challenge gender inequalities and contribute to positive change, Sara Carlemår describes. I carry the issues with me every day, every week and try to think of how I can contribute. Questioning, listening, raising awareness, asking an extra question, speaking up for someone who can't, celebrating achievements.

For International International Women's Day 2021 and beyond will you #ChoseToChallenge? An equal world is an inclusive world, a prosperous world for everyone.
