During 2021 GLOW4equality secured different types of funding for our coaching program, empowering women to empower others. The past months public funding from Swedish Tillväxtverket and by the Bank foundation Sparbanksstiftensen. As of this financing, together with Business Partners and Crowdfunding, financing for the three first coaching groups is secured, our pilot-study.
October 1st 2021 GLOW4equalitys first group finished their six-month coaching program and ended with a celebration focused session. The theme of this coaching group: Eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other types of exploitation. The women attending are all dedicated to combat gender inequality and individually work within this field from different angles.
ICC Coach Pia Moberg, leads the first group ever in GLOW4equality’s coaching program. The participants in the group are all women engaged to combat gender inequality and share a mission: contributing to eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls. The group started their six months together in April 2021 and as of this blog-article, the group have worked through two thirds of the program. We wanted to get Pia’s perspective of the process.
Crowdfunding is, just as it sounds, is when a large group of individuals help with small sums to finance something, instead of a few investors contributing with a larger sum. GLOW4equality is a social business startup financed by a combination of public funding, philanthropists, Crowdfunding and business partners. We’re delighted to already have secured around 20 business partners and partial public funding this past year and now launch our first Crowdfunding-campaign.
Reach for Change and one of their Impact Managers were assigned to identify and define GLOW4equlity's work towards impact measurement. Impact results chain, outputs, outcomes and what we actually intend for to happen… overall a very interesting process that left us with new insights and specific steps moving forward.
The campaign theme for International Women's Day 2021 is #ChooseToChallenge. A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can all choose to challenge inequality. From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge.
The Swedish woman Sigrid Strand had an eye for the need for innovations and technical solutions and she noticed that women generally did not tackle the problems in the same way as men. She founded Sigrid Strand foundation that each year hands out a scholarship to a female inventor in Jämtland, Sweden, to help and empower innovative women and at the same time push development of the region’s entrepreneurship.
GLOW4equality, a social business start-up founded in 2019, now launch our six-month coaching program, free of charge for women involved in gender equality issues. The mission is clear: to empower women and girls around the world and contribute to gender equality, goal 5 of the UNs Sustainable Development Goals.
Some people have a moment in their lives when everything changes. You might not realize at the time, but it changes you profoundly. The moment is often connected to a strong emotion; fear, happiness, devastation or something else. I’ve had a few of those along my journey in life.
Working together for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world we should use all means possible. Coaching is one of those means. Professional coaching a is powerful tool that helps a person go in the direction they want to go and enables sustainable change from within. Changemakers are driving positive change by raising their voices and taking the lead on the biggest challenges we face globally and by making coaching available to changemakers will help us speed up the solutions to our global challenges.
